My goal for this blog is to discuss the many ways Social Media and Journalism are blending together to create the next generation of news. In the past, the public was limited to the passive viewing of information that is provided to them. But Journalism 2.0 is all about allowing the viewers to interact with each other as contributors to the content. It’s an exciting evolution. I’m learning something new everyday and my goal is to share it all with you. I write from the perspective of a web-business owner and Journalist. I have a Broadcast Journalism degree from the University of Florida and spent 6 years at WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida as Executive Producer of News. I’ve spent the last several years creating and managing web sites. And now, I’m bringing my two passions together to analyze and discuss ways Social Media and Journalism can work together in a Web 2.0 world. I’m also working to develop innovative solutions to make this a more seamless and effective union. I’ve recently founded SocialNewsDesk, Inc. Along with my business partner, Elisa DeFoe we are creating unique solutions for Social Media Management in newsrooms.
